Migraine, Early Returns, and Anxiety

So my students are following this election much closer than any of my American students followed any election, and tonight of all night I went to bed a 7 with a migraine. I just woke up and had to drag myself out of bed to see some of the returns. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with the results so far, but being a superstitious person, I'm a bit anxious by early returns. I know Solon is poised to explain how such returns are valid and typically accurate (and for the record, Solon, I don't actually need an explanation!), but honestly, I'd rather all the media outlets would just wait to offer predictions--especially considering that the polls are still open in the West Coast.
