For Ted Kennedy

One had no choice but to leave the cynicism at the door when he took the stage and gave the speech that he gave. His promise to return to the Senate in January, his words on Health Care. He electrified the crowd, making a worthy opening-night setup for Michelle indeed.

Nothing but respect for that man.

I haven't yet seen the Michelle Obama speech--it's on pause right now on my TV--but I wanted to resurface long enough to give a shout out to that great lion, Uncle Teddy. The speech was totally boring, but it was so great to see him up there that I actually got teary. And I did love the promise to be back in January.

I remember seeing Kennedy when he received the Social Action award from the Bush Library. He's just such a warm and genuinely good guy. Last night I dubbed him Senator Santa Claus.

Great to get you back in the Situation, megs. Anything new been going on lately?......

Definitely agreed that the words in the speech weren't the reason he electrified the crowd. It was his sheer presence, and what he represents.

But still, going back to his old, famous line about Health Care being available "North, South, East, West." Yea. Put it in the category of "Stuff Harrogate likes."
