Post Request

I posted the following as a comment, but just to make it front and center and all official-like:

I don't know where I stand on the issue of party before all else. Honestly, I haven't given it much thought before, as the Democratic party hasn't been in a divisive situation like this since I became a voter. Might I request a post and discussion on this issue? I'm curious to hear the thoughts of the bloggers.
Ooooo... and I just quoted myself!

It is fun to quote oneself. Harrogate especially likes it when critics cite themselves in footnotes. "As I correctly predicted in my first book...."

As for Party loyalty before all else, this is not something Harrogate believes in either. But these two people are not like you or solon or Harrogate. They are running for the top of the ticket of this Party. They are representatives of a political group whose adherents their campaign has extra-polarized. This is a big part of why Harrogate thinks they owe the Party come the General Election.

You also suggested that perhaps Hillary Clinton oughtn't campaign for Obama too vigorously, as this might turn off Indys who don't wanna think about her too much. Fair enough, s far as it goes.

But if she loses the nomination, only she will be in a position to consistently, and credibly, suppress the narrative that she got screwed over in Denver, and that the entire Demo campaign is somehow tainted.

I want to quote Harrogate's last word in his comment above. But I shall refrain.

Day two of my return to the Situation is perhaps too soon to be seduced by the temptation to passionately thrust myself into the dark and steamy--but always welcoming--depths of juvenility.

Just 'taint gonna happen today. Maybe on day three.

We'll just wait for that comment on day three, and not look for it at all on day two.
