Thank you, my good reverend for posting this ode for me. I'm quite certain you're expecting me to say something about how offensive Carlin is to women, blah, blah, blah. But I actually agree with almost everything Carlin says. First and second wave feminism applied almost exclusively to white, middle class women. Many of the women at NOW and Ms. Magazine are so caught up in the meaning of language that they have actually become as conservative as the Christian Fundamentalists who believe women should stay home. Feminism, in my mind, shouldn't be about thought or language control (although I do personally hate it when I'm called a girl instead of a woman, and I don't think it is the worst thing in the world if we use more inclusive language); it should be about recognizing and trying to find solutions to sex and gender inequalities.

But then, I'm probably one of the few feminists you know who actually enjoys the word cunt.
