A Call For Unity

In light of tonights events, I would like to issue a a call for unity between the esteemed Democratic presidential nominees. This would entail that the senators meet upon some symbolically important location where Sen. Clinton will withdraw from the race and give her "full" backing and support to Sen. Obama. To further seal the deal and in order to appease the their backers, the senators should have metaphoric make-up sex (lets face do you really want to see either of them go at it?) in front of the party representatives and the gathered public to show that they have now kissed and made-up.

On MSNBC, there was some strange discussion of a " group hug" at the convention between Obama, Hillary, and Bill. Maybe Michelle will join, who knows.

The speeches by Clinton and Obama relied on themes of reconciliation.

But, who knows. May 20th is the first chance one candidate would have the opportunity to close the deal with a mix of pledged delegates and Super Delegates. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next week.

Metaphoric or not, the idea of two men's suits lying next to the bed makes my stomach turn.

Rev. Todd are you implying a bit of sexual ambiguity there?

PW: I am saying, as I have before, that women should robe themselves in long dresses. By wearing pants, women--specifically Clinton, to reclaim the focus of my initial comment--show their limbs and, subsequently, abandon any semblance of grace and charm, two fundamental characteristics of womanhood.

To be clear, I am not the one implying that Clinton is sexually ambiguous. I am simply articulating the inherent implication of her daily decision to wear a pantsuit. Knowing that our fashion choices are not altogether unmotivated, especially insofar as they communicate our membership in (or our desire to be part of) a specific community, we must assume that Clinton is telling her audiences that she is, in fact, sexually unsure of herself, that she is or wants to be a man. A semi-man, if you will.
