A recent British study indicates that pregnant women "who skip breakfast and eat less are more likely to give birth to girls, while moms who consume more calories and a wider range of nutrients — including, specifically, those from breakfast cereal — are more likely to deliver sons." Hmmm. So, girls are the product of inferior nutrition? Then they really are the "weaker sex"! Proof at last!
Fortunately, actual scientists have pointed out that the sex of a baby is actually determined by genetics--not sexual positions, the moon's location at conception, the parents' desires, or nutrition. However, I ate the hell out of some breakfast cereal (and everything else), and I did give birth to a boy. Maybe it's true!

Hmmm... I always eat breakfast, usually cereal, and eat well all day. Okay, during the 2nd trimester nothing stayed down, but I think sex would have been determined by then. Anyhoo, it is an interesting article. -g
I read this today and wondered: Where did those scientists earn their degrees? I mean, really, cereal??
I wonder if eating a lot of Froot Loops results in gay kids? (Just kidding)
I was so annoyed by this research, I can't even tell you. I mean, really.
You could read this another way: girls are so resilient that they develop even if their mothers have poor nutritional habits. I, myself, prefer this interpretation.
But really, I have to agree with Academama and Anastasia. Why don't we just go ahead and use science to reinforce the idea that boys are more desirable?
