Voting in Florida

Spurned Lover, I mean, spurned VP McCain possibility, Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, announced that he will extend the hours for early voting in Florida so that voters can participate 12 hours a day through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a total of 12 weekend hours, between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday.

Gov. Crist stated that the right to vote is sacred and that "many have fought and died for this right....This is not a political decision. This is a people decision."

In response, one plugged in GOPer stated, "He just blew Florida for John McCain."

As Jonathan Chait at TNR stated, the quote by the "plugged-in" Republican "quote concedes a lot in terms of the GOP's claim to democratic legitimacy."

After eight years, maybe democracy will arrive in Florida after all.
