Bill Kristol, Republican Oracle

Colbertian Tip of the Cap to Melissa McEwan, AKA "Shakes."

Bill Kristol, who predicted the Americans would have flowers thrown at their feet when trying to install Wal-Mart style democracy in the Heart of the Middle East. Bill Kristol, who recently predicted hey, if the Americans invaded Iran they'd have flowers thrown at their feet. Bill Kristol, known as Nostradomus in Republican circles throughout the Land.

Bill Kristol, who's about as garden variety a prominent Republican as you are going to find, now identifies Clarence Thomas as the ideal Veep Mate for McCain.

Clarence Thomas, according to Bill Kristol, is "the most impressive conservative in American public life."

Heh.

Actually, that may not be a bad idea. Have CT run for office, something in which he has never done, and then leave one spot on the Supreme Court.

President Bush would not be able to fill the vacancy as the Democrats would reject anyone. And then the Dems. have another seat to fill of a Dem. wins or, if the Dems pick up seats in Congress, then they will be able to oppose conservatives justices.

However, Kristol may just be warming the crowd of for Sec. of State Rice, which would undercut both Obama and Clinton.

Rice only undercuts Obama and Clinton if the American people are 100% on crack. If we are that much on crack, all doubt is removed as to whether or not we deserve what we are getting.

Surely to God, with Rice as the nominee, even the most dense of the "Independents" would understand that McCain is a Continuation candidate.

All Vaginas and Pigmentations notwithstanding. :-D

McCain of course is a continuation candidate no matter who he nominates. But if it's someone like the Governor of Minnesota or (heh) Florida, then Indys might pretty easily be fooled into thinking Bush was an isolated incident, and that these are just candidates in the Presidential race who deserve to be Heard.

And BTW: Harrogate meant to add his total Agreement that Thomas is the most impressive Republican thinker. Whatever that means.....
