The twentieth Democratic Debate will occur tonight in Austin, TX between Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama. This will be their second debate without other candidates.
If you were a candidate's manager, how would you advise your candidate to act tonight?

Senator Obama: provide concise answers that cannot be taken out of context; appear "presidential" and above party politics; focus on the needs of the democrats and the American people.
Senator Clinton: I am not sure how she handles the need to attack with the perception that when she attacks, she seems unfair. I think she should avoid attack and focus on her message, a positive message on how she wants to help the American people. She needs to rise above her recent attacks because they have not worked.
Topics that needs to be addressed:
Economy; Iraq; Super Delegates; Michigan and Florida; Supreme Court Justices (finally); how can a Democratic candidate expect to win Texas; How do they plan on reaching out to enough voters to win the general election.
Maybe they will address a theory of composition to help us all out.

Everything Solon said, and especially Florida and Michigan: As, if they cannot bring themselves to admit they were complicit in a giant screwup even though all voters know that they were, then how can they expect to come across as Genuine?
Another huge, multifaceted issue that needs to be addressed: How would you, if nominated, Sell the Democratic Party? It isn't ALL about you personally, is it? If there are things about the Democratic Party that either of you think need changing, could you be so freakin' kind as to tell us what those things are, and how you propose said changes be effected?
Because, Senators, how the nominee sells the Party "brand" will dictate in large part his or her capacity for coattails. Remember, all the House seats will be at stake even as you run--and, to put it mildly, the Congressional favorability ratings are not high. And, the Senate seats that are in play represent a Golden Opportunity for you to achieve a little breathing room of a majority.
And sigh. Maybe one day, in Imagination Land, the Democratic Party will grow some guts and start talking about the insanity of America's "war on drugs," and the ridiculousness of the mandatory minimum sentences stemming from that "war." But it aint gonna be either of these two candidates.
Oh, and if he were one of Clinton's advisers, he'd be using so many Gambling metaphors that she would begin to confuse him with a sportscaster talking about a college football coach. Probably Pete Carroll.
Seriously, she's got to go for broke here, these last handful of big states are 'make or break' for her, so she might as well be a riverboat gambler and roll the dice, and remember to put all her cards on the table.
Be aggressive, Senator Clinton. If you can make a credible case that you are truer to Democratic principles, that your vision for America is healthier and more workable, then make that case, and make it with conviction.
If you believe you are more electable because eventually the people are going to stop fainting over, and start parodying, Obama's style, then say it, and say it with no reservations.
Don't worry about how the Media will spin your performance Because, let's face it, no matter what the hell you do they're going to spin you negatively anyway. You just have to trust that a lot of people are watching the debate, and try your best to speak right to them. And then, you gotta hope that most of them turn the televisions off as soon as the debate is over.
