Headline of the Day

From CNN: "GOP senators say Obama off to bad start."

I am quite shocked by the headline in the way I have been shocked to hear conservatives defend #43.

The article does have this gem:
"If this is going to be bipartisanship, the country's screwed," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, told ABC's "This Week." "I know bipartisanship when I see it."

Let's see is we can understand this. The GOP engaged in a process to bankrupt and break the company, er... country, which must have been deliberate as the actions of the GOP were so inept. However, when no one wants to listen to the GOP because they continue to adhere to their basic principles, they cry foul.

Lindsey Graham, man of principle.

And Now a Moment From the "OMFG" Category

Heh. Check it out.

So to sum up. Husband gives wife kidney to save her life. Wife promptly cheats on and dumps husband for her physical therapist. And on top of that, denies visitation to the husband, for the three young children. Now husband wants 1.5 Million dollars out of the deal.

Harrogate's position? They don't call it "Donate" for nothin, hubby. Sucks that you were done that way, but you don't deserve 1.5 Million dollars compensation for something you already gave her.

Get your visitation problems straightened out, count yourself lucky for being rid of the wife, and move on with it.

But anywho. Harrogate's favorite part of the article is the quote that ends it:

"This has never been done before in the state of New York," said his lawyer Dominic Barbara. "In theory we are asking for the return of the kidney. Of course he wouldn't really ask for that but the value of it."

Good lord.

Guy Ritchie Rumors: Give Us Dirty Laundry

Consider the sources:
But the news of a new woman in his life is hardly shocking, as rumors of cruelty and infidelity in the former power-couple’s marriage run rampant.

Click here to see photos of Madonna.

Madonna would reportedly taunt Ritchie by telling him she should have married someone stronger, more intelligent and ambitious. According to Us, the singer would even physically abuse Ritchie by slapping him or poking him.

But Ritchie was hardly a pushover in the relationship and Us reports that he would often call her fat, old, ugly and wrinkled. Ritchie also reportedly told her she was stupid and a terrible singer.

UPDATE: At first Harrogate was going to make this about how FOX loves to smear people. But now he sees it's more than just the NY Post racing FOX to the bottom. Apparently Us Weekly won that race handily:

See photos of Madonna's biggest scandals.

For more on Madonna and Guy - including how they would go months without sex and how Ritchie may not have been faithful during their 7 1/2 year marriage - pick up the new issue of Us Weekly today!

Blech. For Harrogate's part, he's sorry it didn't work out for them, at least as sorry as one can be who didn't know either of them personally. But that's pretty boring headline material, admittedly.

For Amy Reads; or, Breaking News: Sarah Palin Has a Style Team (In Other Breaking News, The Sun Came up Today, Once Again)

Ahhhh, ye can always count on the vaunted Page Six of the New York Post to do you right in the clutch. The link Harrogate hath provided, provides a link to photos illustrating the work of Palin and her designer team.

Fun facts and sly rhetoric:

Insiders tell Page Six Palin has a secretive circle of stylists who dress her for events. For her big speech in St. Paul, where she accepted the GOP's vice-presidential nod, this fashion-conscious team encouraged the Alaska governor to splurge on a $2,500 jacket from Saks Fifth Avenue designed by Valentino Garavani [News Alert!!!!! Down home country people prepared to "splurge on a $2,500 jacket from Saks Fifth Avenue designed by Valentino Garavani" really, really hate elitists!!!!!!]

Palin, shunning the pantsuits favored by Hillary Clinton, wore the top during her first big speech.....

Sigh.

Breaking News: Obama, CBS Call GOP Out on Their Cynical Games. And, Huckabee Blogs Some Sense

First, Obama, doing what he does best as the real battle for Virginia begins. Just awesome. "Spare me the phony outrage." Hell yes. Way to go Barack. Isn't that what we were all thinking? One thing is for sure, if he loses it won't be because he didn't give it all he had.

Meanwhile, on the "Maybe Huckabee Wasn't As Dangerous as McCain After All" front, we have this. (Heh. Sorry guys, Harrogate couldn't resist.)

And finally, the "Don't Tread on Me" category, as Katie Couric and CBS have called out McCain's shameless use them in his Ad.

Of course, McCain himself remains a pig, as illustrated by this, the last line of Smith's report:

McCain still has the ad, "Lipstick," on his website.
