Who DOESN'T Read the Situation?

Well, it seems as if people are paying attention to the Rhetorical Situation. Read this BBC article about the many pop culture geniuses who are backing off of Britney Spears:

Spamalot creator Eric Idle [for example] has removed a song lyric making reference to pop star Britney Spears from the musical. Explaining the change, Idle said: "We don't laugh at sad people. Britney is being tortured to death and we don't want to be on that side.

    Wait. We're not supposed to laugh at sad people? What if they are rich and popular, ok then?

    I don't mind people taking a stand to not read Britney news but to extend that to what "people are supposed to do" just makes me want to become a papparazzi (1 p or 2?).
